New year, new look!

Hello loyal listeners! This is Jackson, WVKR’s Tech Director this year.

I’ve been working to give this site a much-needed facelift, so you may have noticed some changes in the past few weeks. Most excitingly, the front page now features a live radio player — no more confusing external sites and no more outdated show titles! You can also access recent posts from our blog (which will see more activity in the coming semester) and our socials from the convenient carousels on the front page.

Our menus have also been rearranged: the station’s history, our contact information, and this year’s exec team can be found under the About tab; you can access show archives on the Calendar and Playlist tabs; and the Blog has a new look and feel. If you need any help navigating this new layout, feel free to leave a comment on this post or email me at techdirector@wvkr.org.

Updating the website has been a pretty significant undertaking, and I’m sure that some things may have slipped through the cracks. I’ve still got some major things I need to fix, so this site is going to continue to be a living document over the next few weeks. If something feels broken or inaccessible, or even if a color combo is hard to read, please email me and I’ll do my best to fix it. I wanted to modernize the site while staying true to our independent roots, and I hope that shines through in this new design, but I’m just a student volunteer with no web training! My foremost goal is to serve you, the listeners, so I welcome any feedback and I hope this redesign takes us a little closer to our mission of delivering quality independent content to the Hudson Valley and beyond.
